Open Arms,
Inc. began in 1991 in response to a Grand Jury's recommendations to fight
child abuse. The
Bridge was opened as a temporary shelter for confirmed cases of
abuse and neglect.
Since 1991, Open Arms has expanded to include six other
programs that broaden the availability of life altering programs which
provide protection, prevention, advocacy or support for children.
These programs are
The Sunshine Center,
First Placement Best
Placement,
CASA,
The Runaway and Homeless and
Transitional
Living programs,
The Georgia Center for Child Traumatic Stress,
and our newest program of
Foster Care.
Open Arms, Inc. is one of the
premier agencies in Southwest Georgia serving the needs of abused
children. A recognized community specialist in child abuse issues, we are often consulted by the following agencies on how to
