About Open Arms, Incorporated

Open Arms, Inc. began in 1991 in response to a Grand Jury's recommendations to fight child abuse. The Bridge was opened as a temporary shelter for confirmed cases of abuse and neglect.

Since 1991, Open Arms has expanded to include six other programs that broaden the availability of life altering programs which provide protection, prevention, advocacy or support for children. These programs are The Sunshine Center, First Placement Best Placement, CASA, The Runaway and Homeless and Transitional Living programs, The Georgia Center for Child Traumatic Stress, and our newest program of Foster Care.

Open Arms, Inc. is one of the premier agencies in Southwest Georgia serving the needs of abused children. A recognized community specialist in child abuse issues, we are often consulted by the following agencies on how to handle particular cases.
