The Bridge

Open Arms, Inc. operates a 12-bed girls facility and a 12-bed boys facility at the Bridges. The Bridge homes are in confidential locations in Lee County. The Bridges are emergency shelters for confirmed cases of abuse and neglect. Children from birth to 17 years of age can stay at the Bridges for up to 60 days. We provide a safe and structured environment allowing them time to begin the healing process.

The Bridges provide:

bullet Food
bullet Clothing
bullet Shelter
bullet Mental health assessment
bullet Counseling
bullet Recreation
bullet Advocacy
bullet Education

The Bridges are actual large child-friendly homes:

The Girls Home sits on five acres surrounded by beautiful Dogwoods.

The Boys Home backs up to a farm with its own basketball court.

The requests for beds have increased tremendously over the last few years. Approximately 200 children live at the Bridges every year and we receive over 1,000 requests for placement each year. Our referrals come from the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Law Enforcement and the Court System. Please contact the DFCS toll free hotline if you are concerned about the welfare of a child: 877-741-8890.
