Runaway & Homeless Program

The Runaway & Homeless Program is part of the Federal initiative to provide shelter and safety to runaway and homeless youth. As part of the Federal grant, Open Arms, Inc. has a toll free number (888-432-1300) that is manned 24 hours per day allowing any youth in distress a contact number for safety.

The Outreach Coordinator makes contact with the youth and if shelter is needed, it is provided at The Bridge (our emergency shelters). The Runaway and Homeless Program then works with the youth and his/her family to reunify if there is no danger to the child. Counseling is arranged and encouraged and an Aftercare counselor follows up with the family for 6 months.
